Symposium Proposals 

Symposia will run as concurrent sessions throughout the main conference. 

Please note that there will be as separate Call for Abstracts for free paper presentations in early 2026.

Proposals must be recieved by 5th Feburary 2026.

Symposium Description

Symposia should address one or more of the core areas within the FFN Pillars and be relevant to individuals who have sustained any type of fragility fracture:

  • Acute multidisciplinary care

  • Rehabilitation and ongoing post-acute care

  • Rapid secondary prevention after a first fracture to prevent future fractures.

  • Transforming healthcare through policy lens.

The focus of the proposed symposium should be informed by one or more of the following: 

  • Evidence published or presented in a peer-reviewed format.

  • A quality-improvement initiative with relevance beyond the local setting (e.g., across organisations or countries)

  • Outcomes from an implementation strategy, such as regional or national practice change that has delivered measurable benefits for patients or health systems. 

Symposium Format and Structure

Symposia are typically 45 minutes and should combine concise presentations with meangful audience interaction.

Formats may include case discussions, panel or plenary debates, or other interactive components.

Priority will be given to worksho[s that meet the following criteria: 

  • Include speakers from multiple disciplines and countires.

  • Demonstrate gender diversity.

  • Address contemporary, controversial, or emerging issues in practice.

  • Appeal to the broad range of specialties represented within the FFN.

  • Provide practical, applicable take-home messages for attendees.
